How it started
The Cincinnati Islamic Community Center Food Pantry began in 2006, as an idea among several men of the community who were trying to come up with ways to serve our community better.
Our mission
The pantry strives to be an outreach agency providing food subsidies and referral services for families and individuals, in partnership with other community organizations. We work to foster a caring atmosphere for the welfare of our community, to keep growing the help we give, and to help our clients improve their quality of life. Our intended outcome is to help meet the basic human needs of people in our community.
What we offer
- Choose pantry: qualified clients grocery shop once a month, or on an emergency basis. Choosing their own food lets families keep their dignity and independence.
- Referral services: we refer clients to other agencies where they may be eligible for more help.
- Open to all: we serve residents in need regardless of race, gender or religious affiliation.
